Terms of Shipping and Returns

Shipping information
We work to get your online orders out to you as quickly as possible. Most orders leave our warehouse within 7-10 business days of the order being placed.
Our primary carrier is UPS, which ships to virtually any physical address in the United States.
Your shipping / handling costs will be calculated for you and added into your shopping cart.
You will receive an email from ActiveMetal confirming the receipt of your order, and a confirmation as soon as your order has shipped.

Shipping times and exclusions
Please note there is a 24 hour processing time for ALL web orders. Once your order is placed, it will be 24 hours before we can begin to fulfill your order.
We do not ship or process orders on Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays.
Once your order is processed for shipping, please allow up to 7-14 business days for delivery. Therefore, the arrival time of your order will be roughly 2-4 weeks from the date of order.
When placing an order please consider that during the Holiday Season it may take an extra day or two for you to receive your order.

P.O. Box or International Shipments
We do not ship to PO Boxes.
We do not ship to or process International orders at this time.

Taxes
Sales tax is added for orders shipped to Illinois.

Return / Refund Policy
Returns of merchandise purchased from this website may be made within 30 days of receipt for a full refund of cost of the merchandise. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. Items returned after 30 days may be assessed a 15% restocking fee. Exceptions to this policy will be made if the product was damaged, defective, or the wrong item was shipped.
You must have prior authorization to return an item you ordered from ActiveMetal.com.

To return an item, just follow these easy steps:

Step #1: Call us at 800.544.3354 to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. All returned merchandise must be received by our warehouse within 10 days of issuing the RMA.

Step #2: Place a copy of your invoice in the box and write your RMA number on the invoice. This helps us expedite the processing of your return and allows us to refund your money promptly.

Step #3: Print the RMA number in large, bold print on the outside of the box.

Step #5: Retain your shipping receipt; i.e. UPS or parcel post, so that you can track the status of your return back to our warehouse.

Please note that you are responsible for all shipping expenses associated with returning the item. When we have received and processed your return, we will send you an email confirmation.
Approximately 7 - 10 business days after that you should see the credit on your credit card. The credit will be for the amount of the merchandise ordered.
Please note, that we do not reimburse you for any of the shipping and handling charges associated with your original order or return.
Include all original packing materials, manuals and accessories with the product to avoid any additional fees. All merchandise must be returned in its original packaging and in saleable condition.
We recommend you return items via UPS or insured USPS for proof of delivery. We also recommend that you reuse the original shipping carton and packing materials. No CODs will be accepted.
Typical turnaround time for returns or replacements is about two to four weeks, but may be longer during high volume periods

Lifetime Product Limited Warranty
Valid only in the United States and Canada ITW Switches warrants to the original purchaser that ITW Switches ActiveMetal products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product.
1. REMEDY: During the warranty period ITW Switches will replace, repair or refund the purchase price of defective products that are installed properly, proven to be defective, and have not been altered or repaired by anyone other than ITW Switches.
2. WARRANTY LIMITATIONS: This warranty applies only to the original purchaser, and is not transferable. This warranty does not include, nor does ITW ActiveTouch assume responsibility for, defects or damage caused by misuse, abuse, alterations, or failure to use the product in a normal and proper manner. As a condition of the warranty, the purchaser must provide proof of purchase date and price. The remedy above is the exclusive remedy. ITW ACTIVETOUCH SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Under no circumstances does the warranty cover damage to connected equipment or costs of business interruption caused by such damage. THE WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER PRODUCT RETURNED WITH THE TAMPER LABEL REMOVED OR EVIDENCE THAT THE PRODUCT HAS BEEN DISASSEMBLED.
3. STATE LAWS: This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Additional Warranty Limitation for Purchasers other than Consumers

THE ABOVE WARRANTY IS GIVEN IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, AND SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDES ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Shipping / Handling Charges

Shipping and Handling Charge of $11.00 per order is valid for orders up to 10lbs within the continental US. Should your order exceed or differ from this criteria we will contact you to quote specific shipping and handling charges for your order.

Expedited/Express Shipping

PLEASE NOTE: All expedited/express shipments will require a signature for delivery. Some expedited items will take up to 24-hours to process before they are sent out to shipping and may incur additional shipping charges.

Sales Tax
We must add sales tax to all orders shipped to Illinois because ITW Switches is a division of Illinois Tools Works and is located in Illinois.

What Happens Once My Order is Placed?
Once you have completed the check-out process on our website, you will be informed on the progress of your order and will be sent emails confirming the following processes:
Order Acknowledgement After your order has been received you will get an email that acknowledged you have placed an order with ActiveMetal.com
Order Shipped The day that your order is shipped you will receive an email with the tracking information of the package and its expected arrival date. You can check that status of your package at anytime through www.UPS.com.
After You Have Received Your Order
After you have received your order you have 30 days to return the item if you are not satisfied with your purchase. Please Note: After 30 days, purchases made from ActiveMetal.com are no longer covered by our Return and Refund Policy.
Order Confirmation Once you have placed your order, you should see an order receipt displayed. This receipt contains details about your order. Very shortly, you should receive an email from us confirming that we have received your order.
Canceling an Order If you need to cancel an order for any reason, please contact our Customer Service department by the next business day after placing your order. We may be able to cancel your order. If your order has already been shipped or can not be cancelled, you may simply refuse the package once it arrives. If you attempted to cancel an order within the allotted time (one business day after placing the order), no restocking fee will be charged. However, if you did not contact Customer Service within the allotted time, a 15% restocking fee will be assessed to your refund.
